Welcome to the special Fire Sale edition of the Is Not Friendly Society. In the past, this bulletin has provided a calendar of events in Melbourne and Sydney, updates on the latest Is Not Magazine activities and the sad antics of the editors, moofie tickets and CDs to win, recipes and advice, plus amusing things we found on the CompuGlobalHyperMegaNet.

But this will probably be the very last Friendly Society bulletin - and it's dedicated to selling off as much Is Not Magazine merchandise and office equipment as possible so that we can pay off the cost of printing Issue #11. We're calling this mighty event the Is Not Magazine Fire Sale. It'll be like the good old days of Welcome To The Jumble or the Cake Stall Corps! Or as Mel rather tragically offers, "like in Terminator 2 when the T-1000 falls in the molten steel and it flashes through the forms of the various people it has killed and impersonated." Yep. Just like that.

The Fire Sale marks the final stage of winding down our organisation: after August 30, Is Not Magazine will be officially defunct. We're still deciding whether we'll continue to run YouTube Tuesday, and we'll answer emails and we're happy to make ourselves available for advice, interviews, enquiries on pending orders, &c. But we will not be in a position to sell or post any more magazines or merchandise. No exceptions.

Love always,

The Magazine.
